Anatomic pathology

We provide comprehensive anatomic diagnostic services for the Central Oregon region. We are the sole provider of anatomic pathology services for the St. Charles Medical Centers and many of the surrounding hospitals. We provide on call coverage for intraoperative consultations (frozen sections) and rapid interpretations of radiologic-guided biopsies performed the St. Charles Medical Centers.

In addition, our extensive courier system allows us to serve many of the outpatient clinics throughout Central Oregon. Our on-site laboratory employs current histology and immunoperoxidase techniques, helping us to provide accurate and timely diagnoses.

Cytopathology

Our laboratory uses Thinprep technology for both gynecologic and non-gynecologic specimens. In addition, we perform HPV DNA testing in our laboratory. Our cytotechnologists are certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathology. Our director is board certified in Cytology.

Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) clinic

Our office includes a comfortable and relaxed environment for aspirations of palpable masses. Patients, under guidance from their clinicians, are welcome to come to our office for FNA procedures. For more information, please click here.

Laboratory Medical Directors

As laboratory medical directors, we are responsible for all the 'behind the scenes' work involved in laboratory testing, including hematology, transfusion medicine, microbiology, and chemistry. We supervise certified technologists who are trained to provide the most accurate laboratory diagnostics possible. In addition, we are responsible for keeping all laboratories certified by inspection agencies such as JCAHO, FDA, and CAP.
